Happy Tuesday! I have had the busiest few weeks, but I have finally managed to settle down to write my (long-overdue) blog post about our vacation to Florida back in April. Of course, we visited the most magical place on earth: Walt Disney World! And also spent a day at Universal Studios, as well as several by the pool and on the beach. So, if ever you've fancied a trip to Florida's gorgeous beaches and ever so entertaining tourist attractions, then read on.

We stayed in one of the Disney Resorts, the Disney Animal Kingdom lodge, in Bay Lake, Florida. This is where we spent our first day, entertaining ourselves and the kids in the Animal Kingdom Theme park. Lucia and Leo were besotted with the animals, and I even had an encounter with the most wonderful giraffe (which also happens to be my most favorite animal).
We also spent time at the Disney World resort in Orlando, where we enjoyed all of the rides, and spent (probably a bit too much!!) a tonne of time and money in the stores. Lucia squealed with excitement every time that she saw her favorite princesses, and was extremely thrilled to get a picture with Snow White. Leo, my god-son, wasn't quite so happy about all of the picture taking and so desperately wanted it over and done with so that he could get ice cream and get on the 'Its a Small World' ride for the millionth time (we were all sick of the song by ride number five!).
It was the perfect day out, and we enjoyed every second of it, the kids especially, but unless you're willing to splash-out and pay (more than) a few extra dollars on fast passes, you may just spend all day waiting in queues.

We spent the next couple of days on the beach, relaxing and letting the kid's make their own fun. It was nice to just lie down for a little while and not do anything at all, as well as catch a tan.
We loaded up with plenty of beach toys; buckets, spades, blow up lilo's and crocodiles and donuts, anything you can imagine, really. This kept the little ones pretty busy, and made the day so much easier for us, rather than having them complain that they had nothing to do. Between all of the toys and burying their Dad's in the sand, Leo and Lucia were thoroughly entertained.
The beach front had plenty of little stores, ones that were literally to die for. They had so many adorable little knick-knacks, as per usual, I came home with a suitcase full of them. From jewellery, to ornaments and books, it was perfect for someone like me who loves all of the tiny little details. There were also some incredible beach cafes, and Isabella and I were in smoothie heaven. All within just a short walk of the sand, we were able to just pop in and out of the cafes to get refreshments whenever we felt like it.

One of our final days was spent at the Universal Studios Theme Park. Harry Potter World was my most favorite part of this trip. I found myself getting so excited walking into Hogsmeade, and I finally tried a butterbeer too! The Simpson's section of the park was also pretty cool, Krusty the Clown danced with me before we took a photo, and the giant pink donuts were absolutely delicious!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this trip to Orlando. It came at a time where we all so desperately needed to get away and have some time-out from our hectic lives at home, especially after the passing of one of our relatives. If you were to ask my daughter about this vacation, she'd tell you that it was (and this is her real words); "the best ever!", and I'd definitely agree.
