Enchanted, by AMA LUCIA - part one.

Hi lovelies! Earlier this year, it was announced that my sister, Isabella, and I would be launching our own line of formal dresses exclusively for AMA LUCIA, and this post today is to give you all an exclusive look at what is to come!
Isabella has been designing for years. Her Isabella Catherine De Rosa Collection has been stocked in AMA LUCIA stores since day one, in fact, we were the first (and at one point, the only!) store to sell the formal dresses. Designing dresses has been her passion for a very long time, however, it has been a completely new experience for me. The process from deciding that we wanted to create a line of dresses together back in September last year, to deciding on cocktail dresses, and then designing and production, has been so extensive, and yet it was nothing but exciting from start to finish.
The design process took up most of our time. Over the Christmas period, Isabella and I sat together trying to decide on how we wanted our dresses look, what style they should be, how they should fit. It was at this time that we realised that I am truly terrible at drawing, leaving Izzie with the job of putting our ideas onto paper. Luckily, she's a dab hand, and she was perfect at drawing what I was picturing. By late January, we had a collection of designs that we were ready to go ahead and put into production.
I found picking the materials for the dresses and helping with the cuts and first samples incredibly enjoyable. It was almost like we were fine tuning each part of the process, and getting our input on everything. The dresses were very much our own, and we wanted to have as much involvement as our schedules would allow.
Not only did we put a lot of thought into the designs, we also wanted to put our own take on the names of each of the dresses, too. Rather than naming them by their style, we decided to name all of them in a way that had meaning to us. So, if you see your name there, think yourself lucky!
